Jesus Running

It's 28 degrees, the air thick with frost.  My breath is visible in the space in front of me, but I continue walking toward the line.  The wind hitting my face is frigid, yet a small smile spreads across my face as I bend down to stretch my calves and retie my shoes. Finally, at the beep of my watch, my foot steps its first of billions.  My hands brush my hips as my legs move back and forth, muscles and lungs preparing to conquer hills and fatigue.  Only two hundred meters later, I meet my first hill, already checking my watch for my pace.  Following instantly is my second hill, the largest one of all.  As I top the giant hill, my legs begin falling into a rhythm; one that is musical and inescapable.  The best part?  My rhythm is set by Jesus.  I fall into step beside Him, letting Him control movement, creating a purpose for my every step.
